Since then, after a couple more stints, he has become widely known for his acting credit as the titular protagonist of the Crocodile Dundee series of films.

From one Australian actor to another, the Crocodile Dundee star ultimately sold his Malibu home to Thor actor Chris Hemsworth back in 2013 for around $3.71 million. Three years after, though, Chris placed it up for sale for $6.5 million. Located in a place notoriously filled with other celebrity homes, this 4,000-square-foot abode is nothing short of lovely. Along with a view of the Pacific Ocean, it has a library and a gym, among its other amenities.

Mitzi Gaynor – $10.3 Million, Beverly Hills

Throughout her childhood, Mitzi Gaynor and her parents often called for a moving company’s services. From Illinois to Detroit, the family finally settled in Hollywood when Mitzi was 11 years old. Six years later, Mitzi began her acting career. Starting her work alongside the era’s well-known stars, she made her debut with a supporting part in the 1950’s My Blue Heaven. Since then, Mitzi has become most known for her performance in films such as South Pacific and There’s No Business Like Show Business.

Along with making quite a name for herself under the spotlight, the actress also undoubtedly earned a fashion. With that in mind, it comes as no surprise she’s spent portions of her fortune on various luxurious items, such as this Beverly Hills house. Like many of her colleagues, however, the South Pacific star sold the property. As of 2016, the 4,167-square-foot five-bedroom home was sold to a new owner for a price of $10.3 million.

Donald Sutherland – $2.995 Million, Palisades Beach

For his first job, Donald Sutherland was 14 years old when he worked part-time as a local radio station’s news correspondent. After finishing his studies with a degree in two majors, engineering and drama, Donald began his journey into the acting business. Starting out in the theater scene, his fame eventually rose to even greater heights thanks to his work in films such as The Italian Job, The Hunger Games movies, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Outside the spotlight, the actor has also dabbled in real estate. With that said, one property he used to call home was this Palisades beach house, which he sold to Neil Jacobson, who later placed it on the market for $2.995 million. An undoubtedly great place to stay in, especially during the summer seasons, this abode features an ocean viewing deck and a master suite with its own pull-down movie screen, among other amenities.

Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn – $6.9 Million, California

While the two first met during their teens, thanks to a stint for a Walt Disney-produced musical, it took some time before Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn finally became one of Hollywood’s power couples. With both being experienced figures in the acting scene, Goldie is most known for her work in films like The Sugarland Express, Foul Play, and Butterflies Are Free. Meanwhile, Kurt is often associated with his acting credit in flicks such as Escape from New York, The Thing, and The Hateful Eight.

The couple has since bought and sold numerous homes through the years, one of which is this gorgeous California estate. Along with its lovely interior design and scenic outdoor area, this haven has five bedrooms, two of which are the master and the guest suites. To top it off, it also has a swimming pool, a gym, and a movie room.

George Hamilton – $895,000, West Palm Beach, FL

George Hamilton began his career in TV, landing on-screen gigs for shows such as The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin, Cimarron City, and The Donna Reed Show. After a couple more stints on the small screen, George got his big-screen debut with a role in 1959’s Crime and Punishment USA, followed by Home from the Hill, released a year later.

Since then, he has made a bigger name for himself in the entertainment industry, thanks to his performance in titles such as The Godfather Part III, The Congressman, and Hollywood Ending. Like many big-name figures, it’s no surprise most of us assume George lives in a big mansion. Well, he did, for a time, before later preferring smaller properties – losing your wallet in a 39-room house can take quite a toll on you. With that said, one such humble abode he spent some investment money on is this West Palm Beach apartment, which he listed for $895,000 back in 2012.

Russell Crowe – $40 Million, Sydney

During the earlier years of his career, Russell Crowe dabbled in a few stints as a musician while also pursuing his dreams of becoming an actor. After a couple of acting gigs on the stage and TV, however, Russell finally got his first shot to fame with his leading role in the 2000 historical epic feature Gladiator. With the movie skyrocketing his fame to such great heights, the actor has since starred in projects such as American Gangster, A Beautiful Mind, and The Nice Guys.

His former house in Sydney, which is also called Berthong, has had quite a history. Initially a lady’s college, the property has since sheltered plenty of owners besides the Gladiator star, including the Murdoch family and lawyer Peter Ziegler. Reportedly worth between $37 to 40 million, the home’s interior space is undoubtedly just as scenic as its outdoor area.

Tom Selleck – Undisclosed Amount, Los Angeles

During his years in school, Tom Selleck proved to be quite an athletic fellow. For his interest in pursuing an acting career, however, it’s safe to say a portion of the credit goes to a drama coach he met during his years in university. Since then, Tom has become most known for his role as the titular lead of the TV series Magnum, PI. He’s also appeared in Friends, The Rockford Files, and most recently, Blue Bloods.

For some time, the actor lived in this condo unit, which he requested to be designed to look as non-condo-looking as possible. Well, by the looks of it, James Blakeley III, the man he hired to do the job, did an excellent job. Despite its fairly small space, the unit has plenty of impressive amenities, one of which is the sofa in his study – with just a pull, it transforms into the guest’s bed!

Elton John – $33 Million, Beverly Hills

When it comes to music, one can’t deny that Elton John is one of the industry’s most iconic and beloved figures. During his earlier years in the business, Elton worked as a songwriter for other artists before he finally released his debut album Empty Sky. Since then, he has released one hit record after another, including Rocket Man, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.

Thanks to the fame and success he’s garnered over the years, the Rocket Man singer has since made quite an investment in real estate. He now has multiple homes scattered around different locations, such as his townhouse in London. In the meantime, though, let’s take a look at his most recent $33-million purchase, located in Beverly Hills. This property is beyond beautiful and features amenities such as a tennis court, a pool house, and an underground garage that can fit as many as 11 cars.

Judi Dench – Undisclosed Amount, Outwood, Surrey

Thanks to her parents having some degree of involvement with the local theater community, Judi Dench was introduced to the ins and outs of acting at an early age. A few years later, she eventually made her way to the stage, with her professional debut being as Ophelia in Hamlet. Along the way, Judi also gained widespread recognition in the movie scene, most notably as M in the 007 film, GoldenEye.

While she is a world-famous celebrity, the GoldenEye actress opts to spend her days away from the spotlight and the paparazzi. When she isn’t busy with any project, Judi blends in quite well with the folks in Outwood, which is a village in Surrey. She resides in a 6,910-square-foot farmhouse, though she can also be seen participating in many of the community’s events and enjoying a couple of visits to the local pub.

Michael Caine – $7.45 Million, South Beach

Maurice Joseph Micklewhite Jr. got his first taste of acting when he was only ten years old in a school production of Cinderella. Ten years later, he began his career in the entertainment industry as Michael White, but after some time, he changed it once more to Michael Caine. Nowadays, moviegoers would undoubtedly recognize him for his acting credit in films such as Children of Men, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and of course, The Dark Knight Trilogy.

He’s also owned and sold a couple of properties along the way, one of which is his South Beach condo unit. The actor bought it back in 2008 for $4 million and sold it around 2018 for an increased value of $7.45 million. Well, one reason behind this price jump would undoubtedly be the upgrades the home has had throughout the years. Along with its gorgeous 2,500-square-foot terrace space, the 4,154-square-foot unit also has a movie theater – the latter added by the actor himself.

Valerie Harper – $4.2 Million, Santa Monica

When Valerie Harper started her career on Broadway as a dancer, she was already 20 years old, quite old to start in Hollywood, to be fair. Despite that, she is best remembered for her various roles, including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, which earned her three Primetime Emmy Awards. Her film appearances are scarce but quite remarkable, like that of Chapter Two, where she garnered a Golden Globe Nomination.

Prior to her passing, Harper listed her Santa Monica home for $4.2 million, which she owned for about 20 years. Are you wondering how much she paid for it back in 1996? It was for a mere $765,000, with affordable home insurance premiums, too! This house was built in 1920 and is just two blocks away from the Palisades Bluffs, which offers a stunning Pacific Ocean view. It is a puzzle why Harper would let go of such a splendid place, but, of course, she had her reasons.

Nick Nolte – $8.25 Million, Malibu

Describing Nick Nolte as “old” is perhaps something he would consider humorous because, at one point, he was actually named the sexiest man alive by the People magazine–and for a good reason. Nolte had leveraged his looks and became a model in the late 1960s to early 1970s before he forayed into acting. When he shifted gears, he became a rather prolific actor, appearing on numerous films like Tropic Thunder, Angel Has Fallen, and Over the Hedge.

With so many projects to his credit, it is only expected that he owns a rather lavish home in the prime location of Malibu, California. His $8.25-million compound has been under his name since 1990. It features four bedrooms spread across 6,000 square feet. It also boasts of a mahogany arched entryway, with mahogany French doors and windows too. The house is split into two structures to afford Nolte privacy when he has visitors.

Sally Field – $7.9 Million, Malibu

When Sally Field was a new entrant to the entertainment industry, she tried out TV acting first, but as years went by, in the 1970s, she took an interest in moviemaking. She then appeared in Heroes, Stay Hungry and Hooper. Her career blossomed in the 1980s, and she also got nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Actress twice. Field then went back to her first love, TV acting in the 2000s, when she held a recurring role in the medical drama ER.

Over the years, she has also accumulated properties, one of which is her Malibu house that comes with four bedrooms. She sold this back in 2011 to a couple who was afraid she would change her mind about selling the place. The fear was justified to a degree because the 3-acre property was nature-based and had horse riding facilities! Of course, Field was sure about listing the property and assured Mr. and Mrs. Jones that she would not back down on the sale.

Rita Moreno – Undisclosed Amount, Bay Area

Famously known for playing the part of Sister Peter Marie Reimondo on the series Oz, Rita Moreno is quite the successful actress. Among her other notable works are The King and I, I Like it Like That, and Slums of Beverly Hills. Her career has spanned over 70 years, and yet, she isn’t done with acting. Starting in 2020, she portrayed Lydia Margarita del Carmen Inclán Maribona Leyte-Vidal de Riera in the remake One Day at a Time. In case you’re wondering, that is indeed her name in the series.

Moreno fell in love with the place she and her late husband bought in the Bay Area. It has an area of 5,500 square feet. She admitted she fell in love with the place, but she does have one complaint about it–there are not so many walls. As an art enthusiast, she needed walls and high roofing. However, she makes do and shuffles the paintings every now and then to lend variety to the home. The house is home to so many sentimental collections that it can be considered a temple of various decors.

Arlene Dahl – $8.5 Million, Upstate NY

Classic Hollywood cinema, which was the typical style of the narrative and visual styles of the movies from the 1910s to the 1960s, would not be the same without one of its iconic stars, Arlene Dahl. The now 95-year-old actress was a prominent figure back in the 1960s, considering she was an actress under the care of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. She also had a stint in modeling before becoming an actress.

At one time, the actress owned an $8.5-million estate in upstate New York. The Victorian house was built in 1859 and included 14 rooms and nine fireplaces. As part of the classical design, oak floorings were installed, and wide verandas and high ceilings allow the breeze to come in. If those were not enough to entice buyers, the property also is adjacent to the Hudson River Parkland. The house is as vintage as it could get.

Judd Hirsch – $1.56 Million, Studio City

Independence Day actor Judd Hirsch has spent a good portion of his life doing comedy and theater. Among his more significant works are A Beautiful Mind, Dear John, and Taxi. Before becoming an actor, he was first a member of the US Army. He was then armed with a degree in physics but decided not to pursue that career, and tried to live in the limelight instead.

While mostly retired now, Hirsch was still able to snatch up a cozy home in Studio City, where he paid $1.56 million for a two-bedroom house. It was about $60,000 more than the asking price, and we can understand why he paid a premium since the house has an area of 2,420 square feet and located just above Laurel Canyon. Its prime location in Studio City means that other homes in the neighborhood are probably just as expensive, if not more.

Jill St. John – $14 Million, Old Oak Road, Brentwood, CA

There exists a long list of Bond girls, but ahead of the pack is Jill St. John, who was the first American Bond girl to appear in Diamonds are Forever. She has also appeared in a host of other films, including Tender is the Night, Come Blow Your Horn, and The Lost World. St. John has also appeared on TV. More than her acting, what made her famous was her lifestyle during the height of her career. She was not exactly known for good money management skills as she frequented parties and dated several men.

However, she did settle down with the love of her life, Robert Wagner. The couple owned a ranchette on Old Oak Road and enjoyed its six bedrooms and five bathrooms—all on 4,556 square feet. Whenever they had guests coming, they would sleep in the adjoining guest house, which has two bedrooms. When the two decided to let go of the fabulous property, they accepted $14 million for it.

Christopher Lloyd – $1.7 Million, Montecito

The role of Dr. Emmett Brown in Back to the Future was played by none other than Christopher Lloyd. He has appeared on so many TV, film, and movie productions since he became active in 1961, that we can say he had moderate success as an actor. He first came to public recognition when he won several awards for her work in the theater play One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Lloyd has received at least four Emmy nominations and other accolades too.

One other thing he could also consider a reward is his $1.7-million home investment in the fancy part of town, Montecito, California. He bought the 1950s-era house for $800,000 and is looking to make a profit whenever he sells the property. Buyers could be enticed since the cottage affords privacy, being hidden behind mature foliage and thick hedging. It also has two bedrooms and one bathroom, which is surely enough for a starting family or a single man or woman.

Alex Trebek – $1.4 Million, Paso Robles, California

If there is anything people can remember Alex Trebek by, it is the fact that he hosted Jeopardy for 37 seasons until the time he passed away, which showed a great degree of dedication from the famous host. Apart from hosting game shows, he also appeared on various TV series, often playing as himself. Of course, his work did not go unrecognized, as he was awarded with the Daytime Emmy Award seven times throughout his life.

Before passing on, Trebek listed his 30-acre lakefront property in Paso Robles for $1.4 million, which is surprisingly low for something as premium as this, though. Located at 3475 Heron Lane, the property boasts of a 1,500 square feet metal shop building, which is perfect for the occasional machine shop hobbyist. This was definitely a steal for the one who purchased it as the house also has three bedrooms and a gorgeous view of Lake Nacimiento.

Pat Sajak – $705K, Glendale, California

With 19 nominations for his work as the host of the game show Wheel of Fortune, there is no doubt that Pat Sajak has made quite a mark in the entertainment industry. Did you know, though, that Sajak started his career as a newsman? He won a contest to be a guest teen deejay on WLS radio’s Dick Biondi Show when he was in college. After this win, his instructor asked him to work for WEDC, which served as a gateway to his eventual career as a game show master.

Sajak could undoubtedly buy the most luxurious houses with all his money in the bank, considering his former annual $15 million salary. He could even buy one straight out, with no need for a mortgage. What he bought for himself, however, is a modest house worth $705,000. The home on 549 Spencer St. has four beds and three baths, sitting atop an acre of land. For sure, when this goes for sale, he would make a significant profit from the initial investment.

Bob Eubanks – $1.982 Million, California

If anything validated Bob Eubanks’ major contribution to the TV industry, it is him getting his own star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has been a constant in the TV game show arena, having hosted The Newlywed Game since 1966. He could also be given most of the praise for the successful revamp of Card Sharks, which he hosted from 1986 to 1989. To cement his legacy further, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences conferred on him the lifetime achievement Emmy Award.

In 2014, Eubanks and his wife, Deborah James, decided to sell their Westlake Village house, listing it for $1.982 million. This Normandy-style house was built in 2006 and sat on 3.5 acres of land in a cul-de-sac, giving the family utmost privacy. It has custom-built cabinetry, an office, elegant French doors, and wood and stone flooring. What is outside? A swimming pool and fountains!

Cher – $2.5 Million, Beverly Hills

The media called Cher “The Goddess of Pop” for a reason, and that is because she has served as the embodiment of female autonomy in the male-dominated music industry. She is best known for her contralto voice. Cher also likes to experiment with style and appearances and cross various areas of the entertainment industry. Did she foresee this level of success when she was still part of the Sonny & Cher duo? Perhaps, she did and worked towards achieving that goal.

Cher purchased a home back in 2013 for $2.1 million but has decided to list it back on the market for $2.5 million. What could have happened? Did she not like the house? There could be other reasons as the house is splendid as it sits on a half-acre private compound. She does not even need a home security system as the house is tucked away at the end of Gloaming Drive. A view of the sweeping mountain view also would meet the prospective buyer of this property.

Jane Withers – $4.5 Million, Bel Air

Former child actress Jane Withers is not so young anymore. She has spent 73 years of her life in the limelight, mainly doing radio and film. She received a break to portray the obnoxious Joy Smythe in the 1934 movie Bright Eyes. Withers subsequently appeared on 38 films before retiring at 21. That retirement was cut short, though, as she returned as a character actor in the 1950s. Later in the 1990s, up until her second retirement in 2002, the former child actress did voice work for Disney films.

Withers, for the longest time, spent many years in Bel-Air. Can you believe that this house was bought for her by her parents back in 1936? It is now just coming up for sale for a modest $4.5 million, a considerable jump from the $37,000 paid for by the parents back then. The cost of insurance then must have also been relatively affordable. Of course, there have been many changes, and the house now has fences and hedges, among other improvements.

Shirley MacLaine – $18 Million, New Mexico

Quirky and headstrong—these two words describe both Shirley MacLaine and the characters she usually portrayed when she was still very active in making movies. She started with minor roles in several Broadway musicals and then eventually became an understudy for other production. When she was tapped to appear on The Trouble With Harry, she was very much ready to make a film debut then. The actress has received starring roles in a multitude of films.

When it comes to her personal beliefs, MacLaine is very much interested in New Age philosophies. That is why when she listed her New Mexico ranch and advised by financial advisors to list it for $30 million, she did not do it right away and consulted psychics, too. The actress eventually settled with $18 million, as 1 + 8 equaled 9, which was the number of completion for her. While the estate might be valued more, she cares more about her spirituality.

Ursula Andress – $2.28 Million, Beverly Hills

Bond girls always have an aura of greatness. Indeed, Ursula Andress has not faded at all. She is still as radiant as ever when she appeared as Honey Ryder on Dr. No in 1962. Andress has also appeared in many other movies like The Blue Max, The Fifth Musketeer, and Perfect Friday. Andress saw her career take off in the 1970s and 1980s, and she gives credit to a producer who cast her for an Italian film in 1955 for her first foray into acting.

The actress once spent a good number of years in her former home on Clear View Drive. She bought this in 1991 for less than a million and later sold it for a profit, at $2.28 million. Living in the house for about 25 years made her attached to it, so it was emotionally challenging for the star to let go of the 4,000 square feet contemporary masterpiece. She would probably be happy about the facelift done by decorator and interior architect Malgosia Migdal to the place.

Lily Tomlin – $7.149 Million, Los Feliz

American actress, comedian, singer/songwriter, and producer Lily Tomlin began her career during the 1960s as a stand-up comedian and performed off-Broadway. Tomlin got her breakthrough role on the television comedy show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In from 1969 to 1973. She was credited with several awards and recognitions, such as Silver Bear for Best Actress, BAFTA Award for Best Actress, Screen Actors Guild Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, Grammy Award, and Kennedy Center Honors, among many others.

Tomlin has achieved a great height of success in her career, and as a result, her financial status grew as well. With a lot of financial capability, the multi-awarded actress bought several properties, including her Los Feliz mansion in Laughlin Park, which Tomlin purchased back in the early 1980s. Originally built for an oil baron, the residence has 6,865 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, four bathrooms, original woodwork, scalloped ceilings, a wine cellar, and a swimming pool.

Barbi Benton – $11.9 Million Los Angeles, CA

Known for her regular appearances on the comedy series Hee Haw, Barbi Benton is a former American model, actress, singer, and songwriter. She gained decent success in recording albums in the 1970s as a country music singer. Subsequently, Benton began acting on the West German comedy film The Naughty Cheerleader in 1979 before appearing as a featured recurrent performer on several series, including The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and The Bobby Vinton Show.

After participating in the series Hee Haw, Benton left the show after four seasons to focus on a more Hollywood-orientated career. In 1977, she starred in the short-lived comedy series Sugar Time! on ABC-TV 1977. As Benton’s career took off, she was presented with the financial capacity to purchase properties, like her Los Angeles residence. Although the property remained on listings of the market in 2011, with an asking price of $11.9 million, the 11,608-square-foot mansion has eight bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, two detached guest houses, and two staff residences—certainly with an installed home security system.

Anthony Hopkins – $10.5 Million, Malibu

Multi-awarded Hollywood actor Anthony Hopkins is a Welsh director and film producer credited with numerous awards and recognitions, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award, two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, British Academy Television Award, and four BAFTA Awards. Furthermore, Hopkins was knighted in 1993 by the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, for his services to the arts. Also, Hopkins was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. More importantly, it happened in 2003 and the BAFTA Fellowship from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for lifetime achievement in 2008.

Hopkins was spotted by Laurence Olivier in London while training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts after finishing his degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 1957. From then onward, Hopkins has established his name in the filmed entertainment industry throughout his career. Subsequently, his net worth grew as well, enabling him to purchase several properties, including his Malibu mansion, which he eventually sold in 2020 for $10.5 million. It spanned roughly 4,000 square feet. The villa has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two fireplaces, and a large living room.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – $5.9 Million, Hawaii

Jabbar was honored as one of the 50 greatest players in the history of the NBA. Moreover, several NBA greats named him the greatest basketball player of all time, such as Julius Erving and Isiah Thomas, and Coach Pat Riley.

Throughout his professional basketball career, Jabbar had achieved tremendous success. He also ventured into show business, starring on the hit crime drama Mannix, and it expanded into the martial arts film The Game of Death with the legendary Bruce Lee. Jabbar’s net worth grew due to his success, and he bought a property in Hawaii, which he listed on the market in 2014 for $5.9 million. It has vaulted interiors and 8-foot doorways, with three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and a covered lanai, among other features.

Turner also ventured into other investments, such as the purchase of the baseball team Atlanta Braves, and over the years of his career, the media mogul gained tremendous success. Along the way, he received numerous awards like the Golden Plate Award, Paul White Award, Peabody Award, Television Hall of Fame inductee, and many more. Moreover, with his success, his net worth ballooned into billions of dollars. With an abundance of money, Turner purchased a property in Florida. The sprawling colonial revival house has 15,000 square feet. The white multi-columned home remains standing since 1938.

Joan Collins – $4.5 Million, West Hollywood

Joan Collins trained as an actress as a teenager at the Royal Academy of Art. Later on, she signed with The Rank Organisation, a British entertainment conglomerate, at age 17. Then in 1955, she secured a contract with the 20th Century Fox. That same year, Collins starred in Land of the Pharaohs as Princess Nellifer and The Virgin Queen as Elizabeth Throckmorton.

Since then, her career rose to great heights. Eventually, the anchor has established his name in the industry. With it, his net worth grew as well, which enabled him to buy his Southampton home. However, he sold it for $2.5 million. The house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The 6-acre-shingly-style village home is brimming with cheery and warm charm. Flowers extend upward to the open deck directly above the window-covered room on the upper section of the house—it certainly has a home security system installed.
